EXTREME GREEN CONCRETE CURING IN A SINGLE ATMOSPHERE CURING CHAMBER
KRAFT'S SOLUTIONS FOR GREENER CURING
A 2-shift manufacturing operation, producing 18 hours per day, will provide approximately 1,200 kWh of waste heat energy. When used to supplement or replace traditional energy required for curing – i.e. propane or natural gas, the Extreme Green system will save:
*Does not include the CO2 savings realized from cement savings due to accelerated curing.
KRAFT has developed a single atmosphere concrete curing system, that derives a portion of its’ required energy from renewable and/or alternative energy sources.
The concrete production equipment circulates hydraulic oil through pumps in order to supply correct operating pressures. A central air compressor is used for other factory applications such as batch and pigment dosing operations. The heat energy generated from the hydraulic pumps and the air compressor is captured by supplied liquid and air based heat exchangers and transferred via a continuous loop circulation system to an insulated storage tank.
KRAFT’s supplemental water heater pulls the captured heat energy from the tank and adds heat energy via a circulation pump and loop to provide the required temperature for the heat exchanger in the KRAFT curing system.Once the energy has served its purpose in providing heat to the curing system, it is circulated back to either the supplemental water heater or through the storage tank and heat exchangers through motorized control valves.

GEO THERMAL HEATING
- Geothermal energy is generated by heat stored beneath the earth’s surface
- Using less than 1% of the earth’s stored heat energy would supply power to the entire planet for 13,000 years
- Hot water, at a temperature over 212°F (100°C), is pumped from the ground through a liquid-gas heat exchanger that provides 120°F (50°C) warm air for curing precast concrete and ceiling panels
